10 Things you need to know before your Anti-Wrinkle and Dermal Filler appointment
Wear as little make up as possible, or better yet try avoid wearing make up to your anti-wrinkle or filler appointment. This will decrease any potential complications. Your make up will be removed and cleaned off your face before the treatment regardless.
To reduce excessive bleeding and bruising avoid Fish oil, Nurofen and Asprin one week before your treatment.
Arnica supplements can be started the day before your appointment to also help decrease bruising and inflammation. This is especially helpful when getting Lip fillers.
Keep in mind that sometimes bruising can occur after having any type of anti wrinkle or filler treatment. As much as the Nurse tries to avoid this, the face is extremely vascular and bruising can happen . So time your events properly. Bruising can last up to 2 weeks on some people.
No make up can be applied straight after the treatment. As make up can increase the risk of infection.
Avoid having a facial, skin resurfacing treatment or waxing done immediately after you have treatment. In some cases you may have to wait 2 - 4 weeks.
Please remember this is a medical procedure and a full facial assessment and a thorough medical history will be taken prior to the procedure.
No exercise or smoking for 24-48 hours after treatment.
You will not be suitable for dermal fillers if it’s within 2 weeks of flying. Flying can cause increased swelling, bruising and further complications due to the increase cabin pressure.
